SD-WAN and Integrated Edge Security at the Branch

One of the biggest drivers related to SD-WAN adoption for companies across the globe is the continued shift in the adoption of large-scale Cloud and SaaS services.

The ability to break out certain traffic directly at the branch via one or more internet-based circuits is a key performance benefit of deploying SD-WAN. It provides the best latency route to the cloud, an increase in bandwidth but at a lower total cost. Direct branch breakout does however create a security and control risk which needs to be addressed by a suitable security stack.

With so many SD-WAN vendors out there, it is sometimes hard to filter through the variety of datasheet and reference articles to make an informed decision. Upon doing their homework, clients soon realise that each vendor offering SD-WAN has unique strengths, and also carries DNA from its core service offering into their SD-WAN solution.
